More mama milk boosting recipes

I found this testimonial of another mama and wanted to share. I'm going to try tonight the smoothie at least

More Mama Milk Green Smoothie
Put the following ingredients into blender and blend:
1/4 cup oats
Greens of your choice (I use spinach, collard and turnip greens.)
One banana (I chop mine and freeze them to make the smoothie thicker.)
A handful of frozen fruit (I like sliced peaches, but you can use whatever you like.)
1 Tablespoon of ground flax seed
Water to about halfway up the ingredients

I love these smoothies! And, it's a great way to get your oats in without noticing them. I love oatmeal, but I don't like feeling like it's coming out of my ears!

More Mama Milk Muffins
This recipe makes 24 muffins because when you're pumping and nursing, you just don't have time to cook very often.

Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup ground flax seed
2 cups buttermilk (I do 2 cups of milk with 2 Tbls. of white vinegar.)
1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
2 Tbls. brewers yeast
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 eggs, beaten slightly
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, melted
1 cup mini chocolate chips

Mix buttermilk with oatmeal and flaxseed and set aside.

In separate bowl, mix together flour, brewers yeast, baking powder, salt and baking soda.

Combine flour mixture with buttermilk mixture and eggs, sugar and butter. Fold in chocolate chips.

Fill 24 greased muffin cups 2/3 full and bake for 15 to 18 minutes at 400 degrees.
