Re: What about boobs?

Well, it was boobs... But a few weeks ago my daughter had a friend over to play. They were playing house and each had a petend baby. Emily set hers down, came into the kitchen and made some fake crying noises, as if her baby was crying. She looks at her friend and says "Oh, be right back! I think my baby needs the boob" LOL LOL So now we call them breasts and we know they're private body parts that we don't need to discuss outside of the house.

Re: What about boobs?

No idea what we'll call them to ds. He has two cousins 2.5 and JUST turned 1 (9mo older than him). So my sister called hers boobs to her oldest so now she calls mine boobs. Or no occation when she's in RARE form. She'll bring over whoever is holding Micah and say "Auntie, I think Micah needs a lil nipple" in a very concerned/mothering tone. LOL!

To her they are just a different type of bottle, but we have to start teaching her that it's not altogether appropriate for her to help Auntie hold it away from his nose like she used to "help" Mommy with her sister.

Re: What about boobs?

I call them boobs if they come up in a casual conversation but if my dh refers to them in front of my 8 year old he is instructed by me to say breasts. Kind of a respect thing. This has only come up when the 8 year old asked why "boobs" are all different sizes. Dh corrected him by saying, "all breasts are different just like all noses and all other bodies are different" he emphasized the word breast to imply that was the better word choice. I don't want my 8 year old to talk about a girls "boobs". It just sounds too.......I don't know. My neighbor has breast cancer and I heard Ian saying something about boob cancer and it freaked me out. I realized he needs to hear the word breast more!
