Anyone with sudden aching knees PP?

Within a month of DS's birth both knees became very sore and it has gone on still and he is just about 3 months. They hurt pretty much only when getting up or down from sitting or kneeling. Not while walking. I will go to the doctor, but I was just curious if anyone had something similar happen? Online I read that due to relaxin hormone joints get out of wack including knees. I didn't have this with DD though.

I had aching joints after DD was born,not just knees so not sure if this info will be helpful. It started around 3months PP and just got worse and worse. I ended up at the dr because I put it off thinking it was the whole relaxin issue and would resolve. My doc tested me for RA among other things. Luckily it wasn't RA but was my thyroid levels being low (borderline hypothyroid). I started taking kelp as an iodine supplement along with fish oil and the joint pain subsided within about a month of doing that. So I'd suggest going to your doc and getting your thyroid levels checked, it's actually a common problem to develop low levels postpartum from what I understand too!

I'm still pregnant, but I'm having issues with one of my knees that didn't start till after I was pregnant. My right knee hyper-extends very easily. It's ridiculous how easily and how much it hurts. Even if the cat just brushes against my leg as she is walking past, my knee with hyper-extend and buckle and I'll gasp in pain because it hurts that much. It stinks because sometimes the kids make it happen too and then they feel badly. I have attributed it to the hormones. I'm hoping it goes away fairly soon after delivery.

I hope yours goes away soon. If not, I'd probably mention it to your dr.

Well my knee started hurting right when I got pregnant and lasted about 3 months. Now at 4 months pp it's just started hurting again. Come to think of it both times has also been while my hair is falling out. I wonder if it is related to thyroid levels? Sorry I don't have any answers mama

I do appreciate the responses since sometimes Dr's themselves don't even know so at least I can suggest testing my thyroid. Thank you so much!
