How do I get away from "entertaining" on the potty

We started PT at 1 yr, and we would read books to DS on the potty because he enjoyed it and would relax and go. He is now 20 months, and we are still entertaining him. :-( He goes on the big potty, so he can't go by himself anyway, but a lot of times it takes forever for him to go because he will hold it to listen to the book...then maybe go...maybe not. Later he'll ask to go again, same thing. When I try to hold off on the book, or suggest we read it after he pees, he usually flips out and doesn't do anything on the potty, which makes reading a book afterwards off the potty a reward for doing nothing. We have no problems with poop - when he has to go, he has to go, no holding it! It's pee that's the problem for us. Advice, suggestions welcome. With a 2 month old, this potty entertaining has gotten more time consuming than I can handle. Thanks!
