DIY Period Panties - Padded Underwear -- Thoughts?

Anyone have a link to a method to taking normal Hanes (or similar) underwear and turning it into padded/period underwear? I really want something that just adds light protection from spotting. I'm sure I can figure it out myself but having something to go off of would be nice.

I think it would be easier to make the underwear from scratch. I really like the scrundies pattern, and you could just make the crotch lining something absorbent and that would probably be enough for spotting. If not use 2 layers of crotch lining. Easy peasy.

What you are wanting makes total sense to me, but I can't fathom actual period underwear in my head. Comfy? Sure. Convenient? Goodness no! You'd have to undress the entire bottom half to change the 'pad'.

Yeah I agree. Some people use them for nighttime and I can see that, but not during the day. I don't really like pads, even cloth ones but I'd have to use my cup more days than not in a month for every little spotty day, especially since its hard to know when its coming. It gets on my underwear anyway, might as well be able to handle it .

I've never really thought about make my own underwear do you mean this pattern for scrundlewear?

That would be very economical and convenient as well. I haven't made one but you can use your old underwear and transform it into one.
