Flats for Flip

I was reading a recent thread were someone asked about what people liked to use with your flips. So many of you said FLATS!!! Because they are trim and absorbant!!!

So I want to get some and try them....I really want an ultra trim diaper.

Can you all tell me what flats you love and how you use them (just layed in?).

What size flat would be best for the largest size on the flip?

Thanks Mammas

Re: Flats for Flip

Flats are trim in general I use them folded and snappied. I have the imagine birds eye, they are not prefect but I can fold them to work I use to use the origami forld but use a kite verision now. I get just as many layers up front the way I fold it. I think anyone can lean to fold flats yep it can take some learning. But they dry quick and for under a dollar a peice you can bet that price.

Re: Flats for Flip

The size of the flats doesn't really matter because you fold them to fit, however if you get a larger flat, it will be more absorbant. GMD large flats are awesome!

I like folding them in half the long way, then in thirds the long way, then I have a long "snake" of an insert. Then I trifold the long way to the exact length I need for the cover and put the extra folded over absorbancy where I need it, front, back or middle. I use this for pocket inserts but they'd work good as an insert in a flip cover too!

I think maybe I will get 4 of the Target flats and if I am feeling the love then get some beter ones. I am sure the fold will come with experience. Thanks Mammas!

You can always test it out with a receiving blanket! I used them to practice and make sure the fit was right since they are similar in size to actual flats :-)

I use the viscose of bamboo fold to fit inserts that come w/ wahmies pockets. They're made by The Cloth Diaper Company and measure about 15x15. I tri-fold or sometimes fold into quarters and stuff my pockets fully unsnapped with them. They are super absorbant and hold up very well. I like them sooo much better than prefolds bc they are trimmer and they clean and dry a LOT faster!
