Re: What kind of car seat is your 6+ y/o in?

My choice for voting wasn't listed so I couldn't vote....Both He and my DD are in Ride Safer Travel Vests. Younger DS is RF in a Safety 1st Uptown. I drive a PT Cruiser and the Hospital opted to put the older kids in those vests cause of the seat being small in the back.

In my Dh's car its 2 High Back boosters and DS is RF in an Infant Bucket(He's outgrowning that so we're going to get another seat for his car)

Ava is 9yrs old and she is in a backless booster. She is 4' 8'' and 72lbs. Only an inch to go before she is out of it.

I noticed in the first pic that the harness did not look very snug. That would explain it.

Re: What kind of car seat is your 6+ y/o in?

DH takes a 6 yo to school in the mornings (same 6 yo we had gaurdianship of last year) and we actually just bought an Evenflo Triumph Advanced so DS and her could easily share a carseat. She is super small for her age.. only 36 lbs and short torsoed (her height is all in her legs) so this works out well. And it great that the arness height can be adjusted super easily between kids. When we had her full time she rode in a Cosco Scenera (the top slots were STILL above her shoulders!) With her Mama she is in a Graco Turbobooster (highback) but I dont feel comfy with her in a booster becasue she doesnt sit properly in it and she is really tiny for her age.. but hey the higback IS an improvement from the backless booster she was in from ages 2.5-5 years. Unfortunately her mama is one of tose that you just cant convince.

Re: What kind of car seat is your 6+ y/o in?

My son will be 8 in August and was in a 5-point harness until he was 7. I wish he was still in one. He's now in a hbb, Graco Turbo until our Monterey comes in. My 4.5yo just got a Regent so he'll likely be in a harness until he outgrows it (8-9yo, probably).

The Regent will not fit right, and I dont want to spend a ton of money if she is going to outgrow the 5 pt harness installation on an other seat. I know most of the 5 pts for big kids out there will only go to a certain hight and weight before the seat needs to be used as a belt positioner. I wish I could just go buy a Mazda 5 and this wouldnt be a issue
I want a Mazda 3!
