Re: Fitness Challenge

Did legs today. Interestingly it is mostly my arms that are sore...?

I have a really hard time being consistent working out on my own. I bought an exercise bike a couple of years ago, I actually enjoy working out that way, but I can always find an excuse not to do it (it's in the basement too far away from the kids, I don't have time, blah blah blah ). I do much better with a class or workout buddy or something.

Did you do arms yesterday? You typically feel things the next day or perhaps two days later.

I still need to go do one minute of planking. I misread the sheet earlier and have only done a minute so far. Not a big deal. Might even be able to do it all at once. Going to try, anyway.

Yeah that about delayed soreness.

I was out of commission today so I focused on the eating aspect. I cannot find my hand weights, yoga mat or my excercise ball pump. Overall it was a frustrating day so hoping for better tomorrow.

Re: Fitness Challenge

Yesterday was total body/cardio so yes there were arms involved. That's probably it. I'll probably feel the legs tomorrow.

I've been doing better with eating too but not so well today or yesterday. Gotta get back to work on that.

I'm sorry you had a frustrating day Agla!

Re: Fitness Challenge

I need to try again at being completely on-plan with THM, but since I'm going to children's camp next week, I'm not going to bother yet. I'm working this week on no soda (yes, again), and less chocolate, plus better overall eating. When I get back from camp I'll focus more on getting into THM. I think if I get it down over the next couple months while life isn't so crazy that I'll be better able to stick with it with life gets crazy again.

I'm focusing on just trying to eat every few hours and trying to keep S and E meals from becoming crossovers. No experimentation with new recipes or anything like that.

But still, it's something I can do at home with DS. I don't understand how people do intense workouts with kids! My neighbors recently asked me why they never seee out running anymore and I just stared at them. Although DS sits in the stroller for our 2 mi walk, I don't think he'd last long if I were running, plus running is SO much more work with a stroller.
Mine all like the stroller better when I'm running. And bonus - it takes less time to get in a good workout. You really only need about 10-15 mins of intense exercise a day to make a difference... How about throwing in some five min runs during your 2 mile walk? Dh and I both enjoy running and swimming and biking. We trade mornings and get some workouts in early, that way. We also bought a used exercise bike and even though it's not my fav, it totally solves the childcare problem. I let kids play in the same room or next room over while it ride. I user a baby faster to keep them from touching the bike. When we go to the pool as a family, we reach try to get in 10-15 mins lap swim. It's certainly not the same as having more uninterrupted time, but it's better than nothing. And I know soon, they will be grown and gone.

Re: Fitness Challenge

The leg workout did eventually catch up with me. Today was arms and I will definitely be feeling it tomorrow/later today.

I found a meme that I thought was fitting for this fitness challenge but I cannot for the life of me get anything to attach to my posts on DS anymore. So never mind.
