raspberry leaf tea

I picked some up today at my local health food store, except its called "female toner" made with raspberry leafs and other herbs. The guy that owns the store is very knowledgeable and said everything it was made with was safe while pregnant. I just wanted to double check, I won't call the doctor about it because they normally don't suggest any herbs while pregnant.
Also I'm still breastfeeding my 3 year old, though my milk is gone all I have now is colostrum and she only gets a few drops if that. Is that okay? Thanks for any and all input.

I used the female toner tea while I was pregnant with Eden. It's safe. RRL tea just tones the uterus, so that is why it is called that. It's the same thing.

well, what is in it? Some things are safe and some aren't. There are certain herbs you shouldn't take while pg or nursing, but some are ok to take once you pass 37 weeks.

Angelica and Licorice are on the list. That being said, I used one box of this stuff while pregnant with Eden and didn't have any problems. Maybe there isn't much of those in there??

Re: raspberry leaf tea

First - I had to chuckle - I saw this post and was like, "Oh no, I forgot my tea!" Thank you for reminding me - I had a batch brewing for the past half hour!! Oops - should be plenty strong!

I have been drinking RRL for a few weeks now. I didn't do it last pregnancy. I have done tons of research on it. There is so much conflicting info., but I find more that deems it safe. It just seems like it has been around a long, long time and if it was bad they would know that by now - and I mean know for sure! The info. that says to avoid it, though, always talks about during the first trimester. FWIW, I saw a study that said only two things were for sure - no adverse side effects during 3rd trimester and among the women who drank it in the 3rd trimester there were less c/s.

Thanks for the info Buffy! Thats really good to know, I drank 2 glasses earlier and it seemed to help my contractions that I've been having on and off for 10 days stick around and get a pattern to them, but they aren't getting any stronger dangit. I just drank my 3rd glass and I'm heading to bed. Glad to know its okay to drink
