Re: To Circumcise or not to Circumcise?

DS isn't circumcised and we have yet to have any issues.

But... I didn't know there was other stuff you had to do. He doesn't pull back his foreskin too pee.. I've never even knew that was a thing. In the bath I have him retract it as far as it is comfortable to make sure its clean -- still at almost 8 years sometimes I can MAYBE the tip of the gland when he does.

Is there more we should be doing?

Mine only had to pull back to get the skin a bit stretched because it was tight. If pediatrician hasn't said anything I would just leave it be.

We donít do the pull back to pee either. Just the basic gentle pull back to you rinse in the shower. No issues. Heís 7 and my husband is 35 .

Re: To Circumcise or not to Circumcise?

Certainly, a hard decision to make with no absolute right or wrongs. Our thinking was that if it was a part of a cultural/religious heritage that the child will learn about it as he grew up that it made sense but that otherwise, we would trust that nature knows best. too soon to tell how ds feels.

Re: To Circumcise or not to Circumcise?

When men get older, they get UTI's quite easily without being circumcised. UTI in the older population can turn to sepsis very quickly. If you baby is not circumcised then make sure you teach them proper cleaning. It is a personal choice but as a studies have shown that it overall protects against infection to be circumcised.
