Laundry Day with a Wringer- PICS

I thought it would be fun to take some pics of my laundry day. Not trying to be braggy, just know some of you were interested in how I wash with a wringer washer.

Starting time 6:30 AM

Filling Tub

Washing

Sending through the wringer. IGNORE my dress.....it got washed with a crayon!, so it is my dirty work dress!

Hand Rinsing----my trusty laundry maiden, Katie assisting

Send through wringer again into basket

Hanging clothes on Line and Chain, note the super jumbo reel line....150 feet!

Draining tub after 3 loads. I wash the cleanest things, the dirty things, and then the filthy things. Drain and start over

All Done at 9:30---15 loads, 13 in wringer, 2 in regular washer. Couldn't fit it all on the line, so I dried 1 load (undies, etc.)

Mama that is very cool! I have never run across a post of yours on here. I love learning about people with less conventional lives. Your clothes line is amazing, where in the world would you find something like that. I can't believe how FAST you were able to do all of that wash. How often do you have that much laundry?

Re: Laundry Day with a Wringer- PICS

I got th clothesline at an Amish hardware store. They are kind of pricey, but the savings in dryer time is worth it. They have similar, but smaller reels online at Lehman's country store. it would work for a smaller family.

I do that much laundry twice a week. If I just use a regular washer, I don't get done washing until Tuesday afternoon.....drives me nuts. I want to get onto other things in life!

That's great! I like old wringer washers we had one when I was growing up with the old aluminium wash tubs for rinsing. Brings back fond memories of just mom & me time my brother & sister where never around on laundry day. Thanks for sharing I need a laundry line like yours.
