I think hot or warm pre wash does much better than cold. I do a hot pre wash now and it made a big difference in my wash routine, actually better than a warm rinse. So I do a hot wash pre wash cycle, hot wash with detergent sometimes with a 2 hour wash soak, then a hygiene cycle with allergy rinse without detergent. Every morning I run my night time fitted through a warm wash to rinse out the strong pee and that also made a huge difference. Currently I'm washing daily with two in diapers - I could go 1.5 days before the pail is really full but with working full time that just doesn't happen and 2 full days the pail is overflowing. Currently zero stink even when I dump the diapers into the washing machine.

By the way I currently use tide pods. I found I had to continually increase the amount of RnG when I used it to get them clean and it wasn't worth the hassle.

Re: Really frustrated.
I would invest in a sprayer and get every speck of poop off before the wash.
