DD was not a late teether. She had all of her teeth by 13 months. But, it's been a year and no more teeth. Lots of time for your LO to play catchup!

Re: Late teethers...

Well...I was almost 2yo before I cut my first tooth! My dr told my mother they would slice my gums if no teeth came in soon! Im sure this does not happen anymore. I did lose my teeth later than most. I was almost in the 3rd grade.
My children have been very late teethers also. DD cut her first two bottom teeth at 15mo and she just cut her 1st top tooth at 17mo.

Re: Late teethers...

All mine have been late teethers so far...Tristan is our frist to get a tooth before a year and it was literally the week before LOL! AJ was the latest, not getting any teeth until 15/16 months old. Brighton was the latest to have amouthful of teeth at almost 2.5/3 (and still has chewing issues I think b/c of it, he chews with his front teeth still at 5).

Dustin has been loosing at a decently 'normal' age I think, he's 8 now and has lost around 7 teeth I think. AJ is behind in it...going to be 10 in Feb and has had 2 pulled by the dentist (perms were growing in behind them and the teeth were not loose at.all.) ad 2 that fell out on their own. Of those 4 he only has had 2 come back in part way and these were pulled & lost at the beginingish of his 8th year.

I don't know about baby teeth but they will for stubborn permanents....which is why ds1 has't been back to the dentist recently

Re: Late teethers...

Yeah, my son got his first tooth at ten months. The pediatrician said it's actually better for them to get their teeth later. And that it can/does affect when they lose them, too, usually. I don't know when my son got his two year molars. He has ten on the top, ten on the bottom now at 3.5. I don't remember, but it seemed like he caught up a bit after those first few teeth.
