Re: No diaper sprayer? No problem!

I like hearing all the different ideas of how to deal with the poo.

I have read before about just plopping it in the toilet or flushing, but I couldn't get those to work well and I did not like running all that poo through the wash. Glad that you guys found simple solutions that work for you though. I like my simple sprayer!

I have been doing it for 4 years without issue. It doesn't gross me out at all. I do bleach in the first rinse and plenty of laundry soap.

I have never had an issue with my diapers or other clothes.

Re: No diaper sprayer? No problem!

You may all think this is gross but Caleb used to poop like 4-5 times a day. Every day. All that poop got old and sometimes it was too much for the diaper sprayer to handle without making a mess. I would haul a couple outside, lay open on a flat rock and hit with a high pressure hose. It got the diapers really clean actually. We live in a rural area with acreage so it isn't like poo was floating around in the yard and the high pressure pretty much dissolved any and everything.

So for those that use a spatula to scrape off the poo....do you use something to wipe off the poo before you put the spatula away?

Re: No diaper sprayer? No problem!

When we cloth diapered our son we bought a diaper sprayer only to find out it wouldn't work with our toilet's plumbing. So we ended up returning it and using the money to buy a detachable shower head that would stretch over to the toilet. It worked great and was cheaper than the diaper sprayer. Plus it's something we were still able to use once DS was out of diapers.

Re: No diaper sprayer? No problem!

I started off years ago dunking & swishing. Then a few years later diaper sprayers came out, & I fell in love lol. Then we moved and didn't have a sprayer for awhile, & I used a spatula which worked surprisingly well. I kept a small bucket next to the toilet to hold the spatula between uses. I wiped the toilet and spatula off with a clorox wipe after each use. I have a diaper sprayer again and prefer that over the spatula though.:-)

Re: No diaper sprayer? No problem!

if your toilet is close enough to the shower head an extension arm shower attachment works as well.
