OT baby carriers

What carrier do you prefer and why? Im expecting #2 in Sept and think a carrier would be handy, especially while shopping. All I have ever used is a cheapy from Wal-Mart.

Ergo for sure! It is so comfy and you can truly be hands free, I can nurse in it discretely which is so convenient when I need to run around after my other kids. I wear mine every day for about my babies first year of life, once they start walking I use it less but still prefer it over a stroller for outings. It has been such a life saver

My preference is for the ring sling. Such a versatile carrier. Works as a carrier from newborns through toddlerhood. I have nursed nb-2years in them with a bit of practice and carried until 4 1/2 years. Works great for front, side, and back carry. Baby can face inward or outward as preferred depending on age and head control. Doubles as a shawl, blanket, or a pillow. Takes up so little space. Can be tossed easily in thewasher.

Re: OT baby carriers

We love our woven wrap. We have a storchenwiege Leo natural. .. we also have a ring sling, and a Beco Gemini. Woven wrap wins for the most comfortable, secure, supportive baby carrier I own. There is a learning curve, but I've learned that the secret to a great fit is to take your time!

Re: OT baby carriers

I've got a ring sling coming for the infant stages and beyond, and we already received a Boba carrier for longer outings/hikes/daddy wearing. I decided on the ring sling because I figured it'd be cooler than a wrap, and my baby is due in April. I also have attended a few La Leche meetings, and it seems a bit easier to discretely breastfeed in the ring sling vs. a wrap.

Re: OT baby carriers

Ive tried the ring sling and a moby wrap and now have settled on an ergo. My Goodness I cant express what a lifesaver the ergo is for me. My DS is very energetic and constantly on the move. I originally got the moby but found it was annoying having to do all the folds just to get the darn thing on. Then I got the ring sling which I liked for a short while before DS got too curious about everything. I had to keep one hand on him while in the sling because he often would jerk for some nearby object and I would be afraid he would fall out of the thing. The ergo though seems to confine him a bit more and keeps him calmer, which is a huge relief for me.

Another one for the ergo carrier. I also loved the sleepy wrap (now called the Boba wrap) it's like a moby wrap but (better!) easier because you put it snug on your body and stretch it around the LO.
