How to end up with tortilla soup

First, plan on making crockpot chilli mac, but accidently add a jar of salsa because your 18m old is being a healthy, active 18m old and your trying to get everyone dressed and ready for a funeral. Next, add the beans and chillis you where going to use in the chilli mac, but add chicken instead of ground beef because you forgot you where out of ground beef. Then add an odd combination of Italian seasoning, garlic and cumon because you don't know what the what you're doing at this point. Also add a cup of shredded cheese because you aren't thinking striaght at this point. Add a cup or 2 of water, praying this will be edible after you get back from the funeral. Turn on low for 4 hours because you meant to turn it on high. Return from said funeral to a wonderful smell eminating from your kitchen. Taste said concoction and realise a little sour cream and tortilla chips, and you've got dinner. Everyone loved it; except the picky 5yr old, but he doesn't like anything that isn't PB, bananas or chicken nuggets--so don't take it personally. The healthy, active 18m old had 3 toddler sized bowls.

The tortilla chips and sour cream are optional. The hubs tasted it and prefered the soup w/o them, though I think the creaminess and crunch are perfect in them. Not as good as Red Robin's tortilla soup, but not bad considering I literally had no clue what we where gonna end up with or if it would even be food.
