How to measure how much she'll is left above head

I have my 3.5 year old rfing in a radian 80 sl. She is about 41" tall but all legs, they go on for miles, so her seated height isn't very long. I still think she may be getting close to the 1.5" of she'll over her head. So are there any tips or guidelines to help me measure for sure. If I'm looking at her in the seat where the back of her head actually comes in contact with the seat there is a lot of space above her still, but if I were to put a ruler on the very top of her head and measure perpendicular to the back of the seat I'd say she's almost grazing the 1.5" point. We leave for Disney tomorrow and I'd much prefer she be rfing for the ride but want we in the safest position.

Oh and it's an inch of shell on the sk radians so if she has 1.5 of shell she is good. If your including padding she may be about there. I'd personally be ok with RFin her on the trip if she is JUST at the height but not over.
