Could my baby hate diapers?

Our son is 9 weeks old and we have only been occasional ECers. It was so awkward before he had some neck control! So we didn't try anything the first month and the second just here and there when it was easy. We were successful most times we tried, too! We've been focused more in the last two weeks now and it's going really well! The past two days he's only pooped once in his diaper and that was in the middle of the night, and were being really lax about things still and don't know his cues even yet! This morning when he woke up from hos first nap he pooped and peed immediately when we got in there.

He also has started fussing again when I put his diaper back on, he did that at first when he was first born, my husband commented on it and I thought it was silly but he's doing it again! Crying a bit when I diaper him after going potty! Has anyone's babies done this?

My 9 month old fusses when I put him on the changing table to put a diaper on. But he doesn't hate diapers, he would just rather do something exciting instead of take 5 minutes and have his diaper changed.

I haven't heard of this, but I'm bumping for you in case any more experienced mamas on here have suggestions. We didn't try EC until 12 mos, so I'm not really sure it was even EC at that point. My kiddo definitely prefers to be diaper free now, but I don't think he cared when he was that young!

What kind of diapers are you using? Could they be uncomfortable for him? You could put him on a waterproof pad and loosely fasten a prefold around him....

Big ec advocates would agree that yes, the babies hate diapers and don’t want to sit in their own waste. Check out GoDiaperFree.com

Re: Could my baby hate diapers?

I don’t think baby is hating diapers. Uncomfortable? Maybe.

But she is saying the baby hates diapers AFTER being changed. Like, baby hates clean diapers. That doesn't make sense, right?

It's possible that a young baby doesn't like the bulk or the weight or the heat that a diaper brings (any diaper not just cloth). If they have been doing diaper free time with EC it could be even more likely.

Most likely any child can get use to it.

Re: Could my baby hate diapers?

Agree with Pixi.
OP, if you feel good about EC, consider a more trim back up diaper option and seee if that helps. Basically just enough layer for one pee.
