Best Cloth Wipes?

We're prepping for our baby who is due in March and we're new to cloth diapering. We want to use cloth wipes as well. But I'm getting confused about all the different types of fabric -flannel, velour, fleece, sherpa, etc.

Do you guys have preferences for which fabric is best for cloth wipes?

Thanks!

I like our flannel/velour wipes the best. They're 8x8 inches and the flannel is a good scrubby for stuck poop. Pretty too!

I like wovens backed with terry best. Then you have a smooth surface and a textured surface, lots of absorbency, and no loss of softness over time like flannel or velour. My favorite wipe is made from an old pair of jeans and a terry shop towel. You can buy the towels 60/$15 at Costco (or use thrift store towels) and use any nicely broken-in jeans for the other side. I just serged, but you could turn and top stitch instead.

I had the hardest time with this too. I finally got a mixture but didnt want to spend more then $1 a wipe. I got WAHM flannel, regular baby washcloths, and a pack of Grovia wipes. They all work just fine. But I am sooo impressed by the Grovia Wipes! They are only a buck a wipe, and so thick and absorbant! They are the perfect size too. I would have bought all Grovia wipes if I had known!

I second flannel/velour wipes! Quilters nappies on hyena cart makes really cute and inexpensive wipes. We have been using ours for nearly 2 years and they still look like new :-) I have about 36 wipes so they get washed about once a week with DS in daycare 4 days per week. I ordered more from her for DS #2 due in 7 weeks. I also got some minky/velour ones for baby boy but I haven't used them yet.

I love my Motherease terry wipes....they are just like the terry clothes you use to bathe...just softer and smaller for baby (9X9). Im not a fan of flannel wipes-not enough texture in my opinion.
