ISO Walkman and Personal CD player

Anyone still have these lying around? Maybe someone has both?

Doesn't have to be Sony. Can be any brand personal tape player. CD player brand doesn't matter either as long as it's small.

Let me know if you do and asking price.

Thank you!

Re: ISO Walkman and Personal CD player

I know that some places still sell them. My mom bought my dad a CD player a couple years ago. Either WalMart or Sears...

Good idea. I'm going to check Sears or kmart. I always have points to use up there.

Re: ISO Walkman and Personal CD player

I bought an off brand Walkman off of Amazon for about $12. It serves its purpose, nothing fancy. I bought a tape player at Target that didnít work well right out of the box this year. When I went to return it, the lady was shocked to see it. She told me I needed to go digital. I told her itís for audiobooks for my kids. She told me I should get a Leap Frog then. I told her that was a good idea. I really wanted to tell her that my 4 year olds favorite book is Super Fudge...I may have a hard time finding that for a Leap Frog. It was easier to just move on I guess.

I also got our CD player from Amazon, itís been awhile and donít remember the price.

I looked on eBay, and couldnít believe how much Walkmans and off brands were!

I hope you find them, that would be great to use up points!

Showing my ignorance here, but where are you getting audio books on tape these days? And aren't kids' audio books on Audible or something?

I get Audiobooks on tape off of eBay. We also have digital forms that we use in the car off of my phone.

We had an iPod. Itís too tiny for us to keep track of. We have iPads, but my kids tend to play games and listen to music instead. With the tapes, my little kids can work them on their own and choose what they want to listen to. I have tapes and CDs available at all times. I have iPads put away for occasional use.

Re: ISO Walkman and Personal CD player

My ds likes older music so he is always coming across tapes and records. Cds etc. super cheap but he wants to have some portable ways to listen to them.

He has a phone and he will use pandora etc. but he likes having an option especially when he is studying in the dorms.

I can't believe what people are asking for used walkmans nowadays. It's crazy.

Re: ISO Walkman and Personal CD player

Hope you are able to find a reasonably priced one.

My car had a tape player, so I had been putting all the school song CDs onto tapes but now we got a new(er) car and it only has a CD player so I'm bummed! Took a trip a couple years ago and I wanted to get some books on tape from the library and discovered they were all on CD now. This thread has reminded me of that, so maybe now I'll see what the library has and give it a try, thanks!
