Re: Anyone CDing to save $$$$ ?

Cost of 2 in diapers and watching my trash can be so full of 'sposies that no trash fit in there - that's what my incentive was. I was spending over $100 a month -conservatively- on 'sposies. I found CPFs on sale for $10 a dozen and bought 2 dz (though they were not very good quality they got me through in the begining) and bought 3 covers. THAT is ALL I started with for about 2 months.... cost me about $60. Then a friend lent me some FBs that her son outgrew, and I chose to buy 6 from her. Then I bought a bG. I recently had to buy new CPFs & covers b/c the other ones were infant sized and my DD outgrew them. Lucky for me and the landfills, my DS has mostly pottytrained in the past 3 months (he still wants a diaper to poop once a day and weras one to bed).

Now, this board has done NOTHING for my cost cutting, but tha'ts ok, cuz I'm not in it for the savings anymore

Re: Anyone CDing to save $$$$ ?

Keeping chemicals off of my baby's bottom was my main reason for CDing, with money following a close second.

I have a really big stash, and even with my recent love for wool, I have spent less than $500 and I KNOW I will not have to put very much more money into CDing him, ever. Because when he sizes up, I'll sell what doesn't fit to buy what does. Or trades. That's the coolest part- aside from the inital investment, you really don't *have* to spend any more after that. I was still working when we made that inital investment, so CDing hasn't cut into our budget at all.
