Formula used in baby food?

I was wondering if anyone used their formula to thin their homemade baby food? Ive heard people do it with breastmilk but wasnt sure about formula as it has a lot more of a short shelf life.

I did. It is good to use the water from the food itself, to preserve nutrients, but I would also thin from time to time with fresh formula *after* heating. Bonus: it also cooled it off if it was too warm.
