What you want to know about the soy is how it is processed. Is it heated and extracted using hexane? Or a water based method. It's an organic formula so the soy is not GMO. The same with the fish oil. Does it use hexane to extract/process.

We use the stage 3 HiPP formula and it does not contain soya lecithin or fish oils.

If you're concerned about the palm oil, there is always a milk bank.

Re: Holle or Hipp formula?

Just curious- why do you prefer these over Baby's Only? What about the ingredients is better? We are pretty happy with BO but want the best for my LO.

BO made my baby constipated. When we made the switch, her BM went back to like BF poo, her spit up completely stopped, and she was much happier.

That was on the lacto-relief for her. I wish it would've worked for her, as BO is more readily available. But the HiPP has done wonders for her. I just buy it in bulk to save on shipping costs.

That's great that you found something you like. I get tempted to try it but hesitate to mess with something that is working pretty well!!

I totally agree with you! If the BO is working, I wouldn't mess with it!

Re: Holle or Hipp formula?

I had a bad experience with Baby's Only years ago. I currently have Holle on the way to me. After much deliberation & research I felt that Holle was a better choice than Hipp. I bought the Holle off of Ebay & if he does well on it I will buy enough off of Ebay to tide me over while I wait for a shipment from the seller in Germany.

Re: Holle or Hipp formula?

I ordered my Holle on Saturday, got it on Monday. I started feeding it late Monday night. He has still spit up, but I know he needs time to adjust.

The Holle is white, not yellowish like American formula. it has the scent of powdered milk, which is better than American formula. The formula scoop is slightly too big, which makes scooping it into the bottle not so great (I am using Evenflo glass bottles). So far I am feeling better about feeding him this & I hope he does well on this!

So far the only American formula he can take is Similac Sensitive. I thought Enfamil Gentlease would be comparable, but it is not. Not even Similac for spit-up stays down! If he cant take the Holle, I will try Hipp, but in the end I will probably go to Gerber Gentle if the German organic milks don't work out. I prefer organic, but after researching AND his sensitivities, this is the best option IMO.
