Earliest baby movement?

With DD, I was pleasantly surprised to feel her around 13 weeks. I've read that "generally" first time moms dont feel much until around 18 weeks.

I was just wondering, for those of you having your 2nd (3rd, 4th...whichever!) have you felt movement earlier this time around? Maybe because it's more familiar and you know what it feels like?

I just ask because I SERIOUSLY think I'm losing my mind. This week I've felt something several times...and I keep telling myself "oh, its probably just gas", but it doesnt feel like gas bubbles, or cramps, or whatever else. It feels like tiny little light taps waaaay down low, right above my pubic bone. I mentioned it to my husband and now he's convinced it's baby.

Doesnt make sense to me! Surely theres no way I'm feeling something already....right????

Re: Earliest baby movement?

I felt this baby at 14 weeks where as my lil boy ( my first ) was around 20 weeks , I think it's mostly that my tummy and uterus muscles are not as tight and strong this time after growing one baby already so it was easier to feel sooner , my lil boy's was a flutter and this one was kicking away .

Re: Earliest baby movement?

I'm a tad jealous to be honest. I"m 14 weeks and nothing yet. But I don't expect it for at least another month. I felt my first at 19 weeks and my second at 18 weeks.

Re: Earliest baby movement?

I love this post! I had posted several days ago wondering if anyone else felt movement at 13 weeks. I thought maybe I was odd. Funny, I am definately not the only one. With my fifth, I am feeling movement and I am 13 weeks. I honestly think I felt stuff a bit earlier. But who knows.

With each of them, I feel them around 14 weeks, a bit earlier with #4 and #5. It has to have something to do with body mechanics, as well as overall sensativity. I am a very sensative person. Sensative to taste, touch, SMELL etc. So it doesn't suprise me that I feel them early.

It must be hard to wait for the mamas who don't feel the little flutters until 16-18+ weeks! But that time before we feel movement really is an amazing time. Such a faith building time. We can't feel the baby, yet it is growing and developing, cradled inside. Wow. It's such a miracle!
