Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of May 14th

This thread is for women that have children who are trying to have more and struggling with infertility (IF). You fall into the IF category if you have been trying for more than a year or if you have known fertility issues. Some have secondary IF and some have primary IF. Some of us are TTC naturally and some need treatments of some type. All are welcome!

We also have women who are praying to make it. Due to prior losses or IF they don't feel like they should join a due date board till after the first 12 weeks. We are truly happy to support you as you transition. Please just keep in mind that we are a group of woman struggling with IF and be sensitive to that as you post. If you put a pregnancy ticker or smiley in your signature, please turn off your signature when you post in this thread. Thank you!

Please note: When your information needs to be updated, please highlight the area that needs to be updated. This will make it easier for me to update you.

If you'd like to be added please post your info using the format below. Please note: I remove names if you are inactive for one month. This really helps keep the list more manageable, if you would like to be added back, just repost your info.

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of May 14th

Sorry I didn't get on over the weekend. DH kept me busy all weekend long!

jacquelinemarie82 - There is a study saying that 12-16 eggs is ideal for IVF. If you want to see the study I can dig it up.

Love4leon - Congratulations on triggering! I had phantom kicks when I was in chemo. FREAKED ME OUT! Glad they went away and were likely just gas! Good luck with this try! I hope you don't need to go to IVF and you turn into the 6th pregnancy I know of that was like this!

On the embryo adoption, I am glad that some of you are considering it but I really feel like I can't do that. I know I am insanely high risk but at the end of the day I just can't let my embryos go. I really have got attached to them in the last 4.5-5 years. It will be hard for me if they don't survive the thaw or if they don't make it.

slimy72 - I am sorry your child is like that. I honestly think my son is the same way. It is really sad the toll this takes on them. I hope you are able to get pregnant before your DH needs another SA!

twinpossible - Welcome Anya! Sorry for your loss! I hope you are able to get another miracle soon! My sisters are adopted from China and are 8 and 10 (yes I am 35). So I have been touched by the miracle of adoption too.

JCPACandMommy - I am so sorry about your MIL. I hope you get great news at the end of the week though!

AFM - This weekend DH decided that we should get a screen door for our front door (all the houses in our neighborhood have one) and to FINALLY replace our clothesline that was taken down last year for our shed and play set to be put in the back yard. So I was helping DH with all of that over the weekend. In other news that is sort of related to me, my sister (the 8 year old that I mentioned above) is an aspiring olympian in figure skating. She went to her second competition this weekend and got a bronze metal! So we are all proud of that! Her first competition she got silver! So I guess she is going in the wrong direction but I believe this competition was bigger then her last one.

Nothing else going on with me. I see my doctor on Wednesday and today I add another estrogen pill to the mix.

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of May 14th

Hello ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend. My dh was sweet and got me a funny card and that movie The Vow. He also took me to TGI Friday's.

Just completed my second week of birth control! So far so good! No noted side effects.

I started walking again. I hope to walk at least 30 minutes a day. I also am back on water only (no soda) and trying to eat protein for breakfast each morning instead of my usual bowl of kid cereal. I would love to lose some weight before I am pregnant again. I was about 125 before my daughter and am now about 155. I have at least 6 if not 8 weeks till the IVF so am hoping that the increased exercise, water, and healthy breakfasts will help me kick start that. Even a pound a week would be nice so I can get down to a solid 145 by IVF time. I want to be at my healthiest to get through all that medication and stress and then (praying it happens!) when I am pregnant, I can be healthier this time around then I was with my daughter. I gained about 40 lbs with her and do not want to do that again.

Nothing much new here. Should be ovulating right now, but big shock i"m not. I have no signs what so ever. My temps are all over the place, no cm, and neg opks. Funny thing is last year when I was taking maca and all the herbals I was at least Oing every other month or so. Now on the clomid I haven't since I started taking it. Would it be a bad idea to take both?

Oh, and in other news, I'm 2 lbs away from my first big weight loss milestone. I only really started trying to loose so my body would cooperate and so far it hasn't worked, but I"m pretty proud. I've almost lost my first 25lbs. Then I really need to loose at least another 25lbs but it's slow going for sure.

Hi Ladies... I hope everyone is having a good week. I haven't been around since I asked to join your group, I've been having health problems. I'm going to the doctor today so hopefully I will find some answers. I don't have any idea if it has to do with anything that is going on with me fertility wise but just another annoying problem to add on top of it all. Don't you just love when that happens?

Hi ladies, happy Mother's Day to everyone. This weekend was bittersweet for me, I am so happy to be a momma to my girls but I just lost baby bean last week and feel...empty. Everyone keeps giving me "that look" and trying to say something to help but it only makes it worse. My MIL was going on and on about how she had FOUR m/c before she had my hubby and not to give up. All I heard was FOUR M/C!!!! I guess I am at a low point, still bleeding from loosing bean and just sad. I can't wait to feel somewhat normal again, when did all of you stop bleeding after a m/c?

Ms.Kaun: I hope you figure out what is going on, health issues are the worst!

I am so so sorry you lost your bean

I'm being tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. If this comes back as lupus the doctor was saying that can cause m/c as well so there might be my answer. I'm not holding my breath. I have had too many tests with oh this may be the answer only to be disappointed to be back into the category of who knows.

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of May 14th

Ms. Kaun, hope you get answers soon!

Twinpossible, I know this is a tough holiday to go through as a mom. I went through 4 Mother's Day with nothing and that was so sad. But it wasn't due to a m/c so I'm sure that would make it so much more hurtful. I am praying for you and hope you are able to get another bfp with a healthy 9 months.

Well, I am here with AF starting again.....there was hope, but not much. I have to call my endo and have my prolactin tested again, because C has been weaned since March and he wants to test for hyperprolactomia, and I think I am going to call my GI doc and see about starting Met again.........I am so sick of excess weight, and these steroids are horrible! I have moon face, am starving all the freakin time, and I am dealing with allergies right now so I can't exercise if I wanted to!

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of May 14th

jacquelinemarie82 - for no BC side effects! Congratulations on doing walking again! That is always good! Just so your prepared, IVF does make you show faster so even if you hit your goal, don't think that you will "feel" like your at your goal. I was in maternity with my son at like 6-8 weeks I think. It was bad! Then again I think I gained about 50 lbs with my son.

slimy72 - I would talk to your doctor about taking the herbs and the clomid. I imagine that they would say it is okay but it is best to be sure. You could call them about it. No need for an appointment I wouldn't think. Congratulations on being so close to your weight loss goal! That is a major accomplishment!

Ms.Kaun - I am sorry you are having other health issues now. That is the worst! It also makes all of this just harder in general. I hope you get answers though, being in the dark is FAR worse then knowing what is happening.

twinpossible - I HATE mother's day. I know I should be thankful for what I have and yata, yata, yata but I NEVER feel that way on mother's day. When we were Catholic it was the worse because we would go to church then they would hand out flowers to all the mothers. I nearly dug a hole right then and there in the sanctuary after we lost our children and before we got pregnant again. It felt like they were trying to make lost moms and infertile feel like they were second class Catholics. I hated that!

To your question, I miscarried at 9 weeks and had the D&C at 10 weeks. I stopped bleeding at about 3 weeks but my beta was positive for 2 months!! Miscarriages are awful!

Melmonkey - I am sorry you got AF. I hope your testing finds out what is going on. I think Met would be a good thing to take if you had been on it before. It takes 3 months to make an egg and so you may just have unhappy eggs right now. Need to get that fixed! Good luck!

AFM - I have decided to take DS to my appointment tomorrow rather then dropping off at the drop in center. We need to do grocery shopping tomorrow and this would just be easier I think. So wish me luck on that! I hope everyone has a good day today! It is raining hard here. Rather gloomy. So I think we are just going to stay put today... though I really need batteries for our mouse.
