Heavy spotting, miscarriage? TMI

I am 5 weeks pregnant and on progesterone suppositories, which are red and result in a not-so-pleasant visual every first morning pee. But only the first morning pee. The rest of the day is normal.

Or was, until today. I had a vaginal ultrasound yesterday. Around 11:30 pm last night, I had some lower discomfort and bleeding, with some small clots. I've miscarried before so I thought I knew the drill. I expected to be in good pain by midday, mourning my loss. Instead, the bleeding and discomfort stopped around 9am. The bleeding was only when I wiped, never on the pad, and there was mucus as well. My other miscarriages did not do this. I am still uncomfortable but it could totally be from lounging all day feeling sorry for myself.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Re: Heavy spotting, miscarriage? TMI

I dont have any experience with having a miscarriage but I did spot more with this pregnancy then I did with baby #1 so bleeding isnt totally uncommon. Were you extra active that day? Or was it after sex? I almost always spot for up to a day after sex while pregnant. Any bleeding Ive ever had was when wiping like you said. Sorry this wasnt totally helpful. Just trying to stay positive for you and your little one! Hope it ends up being nothing to worry about!

Since it was after your vaginal ultrasound, I'm thinking it was due to that. Have you called your doctor's office? Call them first thing just to make sure but it sounds like it was from the ultrasound.
:hugs Mama!:
Stay positive.

I agree with Mama Chirpy. Probably from your vaginal ultrasound. Hopefully the spotting stops soon. I've been through 4 miscarriages so I know the stress you're feeling! I'll be praying for you

I agree - probably from the ultrasound. Although, at 13 weeks I had heavy bleeding for about an hour and then it stopped. Delivered a healthy baby after 41 weeks, and never figured out what the deal was. My doctor told me as long as the bleeding stopped, we didn't care. Hopefully the same is true for you!
