Tubal Reversal Experiences?

Hi all, I'm an oldie to this group and coming back around for some support. I'm currently (mostly casually) researching tubal reversal. I'd love to hear your experiences, who you saw, what it cost (if you're comfortable sharing), if it was laproscipic, and whatever other information/wisdom you would impart!
Thanks!

Re: Tubal Reversal Experiences?

Hi there!! I was in the same boat back in 2011... we decided to go with Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center in Chapel Hill NC. i researched and found doctors closer to me that would do the surgery and maybe a little bit cheaper but I wanted to go with someone that did it for a living and not just once in a while. It was a great experience... I had had a C-section before this surgery and my youngest was 7 at the time. They cut right over my c-section scar and I was quite sore for a few days and took it easy for at least a week but then I was back to normal. I guess i had good lengths of tubes left not sure exactly how long (i wanna say somewhere 6-8cm). They say the longer the tubes the better chance of successfully getting pregnant. We paid right around $6000 for the surgery then hotel (they use a specific one that is very close and the nurse comes to your room to check on you there) and travel expenses. I had been charting my cycle for at least 6 months before the surgery and the next month I found out I was pregnant!! so since tubal reversal I've been pregnant 7 times with 3 girls ages 5, 3 and 7 months. You do have to have earlier prenatal care in case of ectopic (I guess that's more common when there's scaring on the tubes) and depending on your age and the tubal surgery you had to begin with determines how successful the reversal will be.
Good luck and hope your dreams come true!
