I gave one of our dogs more than one name cause I couldn't decide on one so made one name his main name he goes by & the other his middle name.

Re: Pet names

Sort of. I grew up around horses, so I always seem to think in terms of long "proper" names and short "call" names, even though all my dogs are mutts, not registered. So my dog's name is Leap of Faith, b/c he was a rescue, but I call him Leap. (unless I'm mad at him--then he gets the whole mouthful! ;-) )

Re: Pet names

None of mine, personally. But some friends gave their cat four or five names.

I remember as a kid, my mom gave them first and middle names. We only ever gave them one name though.

My cat was named Ezekiel Bartholomew. We call him Zeke. And he's never once been called his full name but at 19 that's what I named him!!

Re: Pet names

As in nicknames or full registered names and "call names"? My dogs all respond to a couple of names because I call them by nicknames a lot. Remus responds to Re-re, Remaru and Dingo-Dog. Freyja gets Freyja Mae when she is naughty and Missy Freyja or Missy Mae sometimes. Blue is Blue Bell (that is her full name) but we call her Blues or Blue-be. Magic is Magi or Migie. Hobgoblin has the longest official name, all his paperwork says "Hobgoblin's Halloween Haunting" LOL. I call him a little bit of everything, Hobs, Hobbins, Houbliet, Hobbit, and Herb.

I also have a little cat named Halloween, she goes by Hallow or Missy Hallow.
