Ants in dry cat food...

I have a 16lb bag of dry cat food that the ants have gotten into. Typically big bags like this get separated in smaller air tight bags for this very reason but somehow this time it didn't happen. So my question is, is there anything I can do to get rid of the ants without throwing out the food? Thanks in advance

Put it in airtight bags now. That should suffocate the ants. And if you have to put it out, put it in the cat bowl that is inside another bigger bowl, full of water. Ants usually can't swim, so they won't be able to get to the house. Hopefully.

On the plus side it's a little extra protein for the cat.....
