Period & nursing....

I really had no idea where to put this post so I hope this forum is ok!

I'm nursing my 8 1/2 month old daughter. My period returned at 6 months & I've had three very regular (28 day) cycles since. I am now on day 34 of this cycle with no period in sight. I've taken a multitude of pregnancy tests & they've all been negative. My daughter hasn't been nursing anymore than usual or any other major change in our nursing relationship. So my question is has anyone here had an experience with returned menstruation while nursing & then Had it stop again?

It can be wonky. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hmmm, I wonder if mine will regulate without birth control after I finish nursing. I was on bc for 20 years and only went off of it before TTC. 12 weeks PP and no period yet.

It's almost been a year since my last period! I'm also 12 pp and no period.

I just had this discussion with my OB and she said it can be random while nursing so what you encountered doesn't sound unusual.

I agree with the other posters - your body's hormones are out-of-whack, especially since you're still nursing. I always get my period back right away, even though I nurse exclusively (within 1-2 months), but there have been times where I've skipped a period, got really anxious that I could be pregnant, only to have it return the next month.

For me when my period came back it always depended on how much she was nursing. Some months were less and I would get a period. Some months she nursed more and it was late or didn't come at all. I am usually on a strict 26 day cycle when not bfing
