Aromatherapy During Labor

I stumbled across the aromatherapy (use of essential oils) during labor/delivery and found it so interesting!! I bought 5 of the many recommended oils and wrote my notes after researching.

My question is: Has anyone tried it and has it worked for pain & contraction management?

I also found a neat fact that Myrhh when used a little on the umbilical cord stump will make it dry out faster. Double plus for me because I hate that stump!

The ones I purchased were

Lavender
Peppermint
Jasmine
Clary Sage
Myrhh

Now I know to keep the Clary Sage and Myrhh away from me until I'm in labor because it can start labor.

Anyone induce themselves as well using one of the oils? I may try it next week too ;-) (38weeks)

Could you share what you learned about each one of the oil?

Here is the google link:

Everything on that first page with the search "essential oils for labor" is very informative

I had a silk Lavender eye pillow with me during my first labor. I actually just laid there in the fetal position and smelled it for like 5 hours! LOL
