Moonjars for Allowance--Anyone read the accompanying book?

Coincidentally, as I'm chatting w/ my mom about Moonjars and how I'd like to get one for my nephew, a coop pops up on them.

It closes tmw. so I have to hurry. Anyone read the book that explains how Moonjars came to be? Is it interesting at all (this is for a 6 y/o)? Worth buying it to go w/ the jar? http://www.moonjar.com/store/photoPo...m?ProductID=28

One of my students used to bring his 'share' part in to school during charity collections. Seems like such a great way for kids to learn to save, share AND spend

I have never heard of anything but like the idea for my 12 year old. Is the coop open to anyone?

I've never heard of these but my parents raised us with a similar idea. A third of our allowance was savings, a third spending, and a third church. We had three small ceramic banks, each was a different animal in my case. I think it definately helped with understanding money.

Yep! Just join the Yahoo group. Closes tmw for fills tho, so hurry. Everything's almost 1/2 off retail!
Geez. I wish I could find someone who read the book before. I can't decide whether to get the set, or just the jars. Urgh.

ETA--I just looked at pricing and it's a paperback book, so it's only $3.50 Maybe I'll 'splurge' and try it
