Wink Let's Talk About Socks Baby!

Does anyone else have a problem with runaway socks?? My kids must have 13,000 socks in their room, and I think maybe 3 of them have an exact match. Where the heck do the other socks go?? And what is a better way to keep track of them? Please tell me your system, if you have one. it seems that just throwing them into the wash at the same time just doesn't work.

Thanks in advance

When she is done wearing a pair I stick them in a lingerie laundry bag, its like mesh with a zipper. You can get them for like 1.88 at Walmart. And, I also wash them in the bag so none get eaten by the dryer sock aliens LOL Havent had a missing sock in ages.

I don't think there is anything you can do. I was always told that it was the washer that ate them, not the dryer. Its just like the stupid lids for the tupperware, where the heck do they go?

I also have to do this in her drawer with the matched socks, she likes to unmatch and scatter all of her clean socks

Re: Let's Talk About Socks Baby!

i second the lingerie bag recommendation! those socks are just so small that they are begging to be eaten by my dryer.

Re: Let's Talk About Socks Baby!

I would love a solution to this problem. I kept unmatched sock in a rubbermaid storage tub until the thing was so overflowing with socks without their mates, I threw the whole mess away! It really stinks when they learn how to take off their socks, and my kids are the type that it could be freezing cold in the house and they will STILL peel off their socks and leave them where ever they land. I'm all for disposable socks, if they ever come out with them. Ugh. How about peel and stick socks??

Re: Let's Talk About Socks Baby!

I gotta add this to my list of things to buy at the store tomorrow. Both my kids have aliens stealing their socks I swear!

Now my other problem is their feet grow so darn big I can't never find the right dang size sock!

I second this frustration...no offense to the Previous Posters, but the lingerie bag thing only works if you have one or two kids. Once you are past that, good luck with the lingerie bag! I don't have problems with my chldren taking off their socks and leaving them wherever they land, butoften they will find a sock or two in the toy chest, under the bed, in the closet, etc. etc. and no one knows how they got there. 9 times out of 10 they are dirty socks too, not clean ones. Ewwwww.

I'm sure some of them get taken by the one footed aliens that steal everyone's socks but I always have a large sock pile in various sizes and stages of use in the bottom of my laundry basket. About once a year I have to just toss them all and go buy some more new ones.
