Re: Turning tonights dinner into a new meal for tomorrow?

My fave is a turkey or a big chicken...you can have a roast turkey dinner one night, then make a pot pie or some kind of casserole, and then soup from the carcass.

I like to make a braised beef roast on Sundays. We usually have more than half left over, so I take half of what's left, and use it in chili(instead of hamburger). The other half usually gets turned into shredded beef tacos, chimichangas, or something similar.

Re: Turning tonights dinner into a new meal for tomorrow?

I haven't read the other posts.

I make post roast with potatoes and carrots. Next night we have roast beef sandwiches. Next night I sautee some veggies and add the rest of the beef to make a stir fry.

Spaghetti - I only make enough pasta for one night, the sauce is used as pizza sauce the next day or in another pasta dish.

If I have a whole bird I roast it in the oven the first night, make sandwiches or a chicken/turkey bake the next night, throw the whole thing including bones in a crock pot for the third night to make soup.

If we have hamburgers, I cut up the meat for the 2nd night and just do a rice with onions and peppers and mix the hamburger in.

Steak gets sliced up and used in stroganoff or stir fry. Same thing with chicken breasts if we have leftover.

I can't think of anymore right now.
