GN trainers, using my own PUL

LO surprised me at ~22 pounds (long and skinny) by deciding to be interested in potty training. I'm looking for some gender neutral pull up training pants, and had originally been planning to buy Gerber white training pants and sewing some fancy PUL I'd bought on to make them decorative and somewhat waterproof.

Still want to use the PUL I'd bought, because I can't think of anything else to use it for, but I'm finding that Gerber training pants start at ~24 pounds and tend to fit big/gappy according to reviews (of course nobody locally carries that smallest size, so I'd have to order online/pay shipping to try them).

Any suggestions ladies?

If you have basic sewing skills you can make your own! Do you have snap pliers, elastic, and a "soaker" material (flannel or prefolds)? If you do then you could make a side snapping pull up! Look around on google and you can probably find a free pattern.
