Am I crazy?

Next week I will be 35 weeks and I want to take a 6 hour trip with just me and DD to see my parents. I'm trying to convince my hubby it would be fine but really I need to convince myself. Still not totally sure if i can but i really want to

How long would you be staying. If it was just for a few days I would do it.

I would go without hesitation. If you have no history of PTL or no cause to think you will have this baby early then go and enjoy yourself!

Re: Am I crazy?

I agree with Heather. If no history of PTL, and you've not had any signs, why not?

I wouldn't do it, but that's because I'd be uncomfortable sitting for that long in the car. Plus, I hate extended car trips in general, so I use any excuse to not do them

Re: Am I crazy?

I will be 33 weeks this weekend and just did a 6hr drive this past weekend. It was hard to do. We left on Sat and came back on Monday. I am not sure I could have driven it by myself to be honest ( and I have done this drive by myself many times before). Just the pressure of sitting gave me wicked contractions. It wasn't bad and I am glad I went but it wasn't that enjoyable.

Re: Am I crazy?

I did a 6 hour car trip over a weekend when I was 33 weeks (6 hours there and 6 hours back).

This last weekend we did 3 hours to Raleigh, then an hour and a half to a service on Sunday and an hour and a half back to Raleigh, and then 3 hours back to the ILs and I was almost 36 weeks.

This coming weekend we're doing 3 hours to Raleigh, then 2 hours to a morning service, another hour to an evening service, then 2 hours back to Raleigh, then finally 3 hours back to the ILs... and I'll be almost 37 weeks.

So... sure, I'd do it. Just make sure you're sitting up in the car and not reclining on your back too much. If you can put your feet up, I'd do it. I can't really because my belly gets in the way and it's uncomfortable so I just tailor sit the best I can in the passenger seat.

If I go it will just be me and DD which is why hubby is leery of letting me go....
