Cleaning bottles without fancy bags/machines?

Ok, I think I read about boiling bottles and pump parts but I can't find it now! I don't want to go out and buy a special gadget to clean them, but am having a hard time getting my bottle nipples to not smell funky after washing them with soap and hot water...

Do you have a bottle brush? I just put everything in a big bowl and fill it with hot soapy water. The I wash everything and then rinse everything and put bottle rack

I always washed with hot soapy water then boiled for about 5 mins. If you're using latex just be sure to at least rinse it off right after it gets used and let it dry completely before washing and then dry completely before using again.

I had issues getting the nipples completely clean too. I ended up having to steam sterilize with a microwave sterilizer. I had an electric one too- but I honestly like the microwave one better. It's cheaper and I think it cleaned better.

Ok, thanks mamas! I actually don't have a bottle brush, we are super broke right now, so I'm trying to figure out stuff we can use that we already have. Thanks so much!

I always let bottles soak in super hot, soapy water before washing... then use a bottle brush (you can find them at the Dollar Store). I also boiled for five minutes after washing, but only twice a week or so.

I've bought bottle brushes at the Dollar Store, too
