OMG, You all are making me laugh so hard.... How I do hate hearing that same tired line over and over and over. I don't know which bugs me most, that line or when they just stare. I have started to just stare right back at them, though.

I hear this and just have two, but I think its because they are both under 2 years old. I don't take any offense, I think people mean it to be nice, it just gets old. More often I get, "wow they're really close in age!" as if I didn't know that!

I have heard it, and hate it, can't people think of something more original?

I am SO right there with you!
I have a 4, 3 and 20 month old, and im pregnant again. I get comments and sympathy looks from people every time we go out. its gotten more annoying than anything. I used to let it bother me so much in the past.
yeah I might have my hands full, but I wouldnt have it any other way.

LOL about your DS. How adorable.

Ironcically, I get this comment more now w/ two 21 months apart than I did when I nannied two girls (then 7 & 9) and had three kids with me everywhere I went.

It's silly.

I don't really think of it in that way, you know? My children are both blessings... and it's a joy to care for them (most of the time ) but I know people are just trying to make conversation so I try not to be too rough on them.

LOL! I figured out mine were close in age when DS started telling me: "Two babie!" every time I was holding both of them.

This is funny. It never occurred to me that everyone else hears this too. I hear quite often with both my girls, and definitely when I take my oldest along as well. I kind of laugh to myself because i know people who only have one and are far more overwhelmed than I.

Re: "You sure have your hands full"

I used to get that comment with my older 3 kids when I was having a particulary hard time with them acting up etc. Maybe people just didn't know what else to say and felt sympathy for the kids being so rowdy.. For some reason it never bothered me though.. I guess because it was usually said from people with a smile like they really understood..
