Re: Do you ever just not want to nurse?

Ha! I feel that way daily and my babies aren't even 5 months yet!

In my defense though, I am either nursing a baby or pumping about 18 of my 24 hours/day.

Yep I've felt like that a lot through three kids, especially the two who were/are high needs toddlers. I feel like that more the older they get. Like my son just turned two last week and I just nursed him although I didn't want to.

Re: Do you ever just not want to nurse?

Oh yeah, I've had days like that and times where I just do not want to nurse her. When my daughter was 19 months, we went to a funeral for my niece (my sister lost her baby at 28 weeks) and my daughter didn't nurse almost the whole day, one side went over 24 hours because the last time I had nursed on that side was the night before, I didn't have time to nurse her on that side before the funeral and I didn't nurse that whole day until we were on the way home and I finally had my husband pull over at a rest stop. I was sore and my daughter woke up so I nursed her on the sore side in the car at the rest stop. Pretty sad but I didn't feel comfortable nursing around my sister's in-laws as they have enough issues with nursing a NEWBORN much less a 19-month old. *sigh* So yeah, that was my big bad moment.

Re: Do you ever just not want to nurse?

I pretend sometimes that I don't hear him if I'm downstairs and DH is upstairs. I turn the monitor off in the kitchen until I hear my DH take care of DS. If my DS doesn't see/smell/hear me he sleeps through then night so sometimes I sleep in the guest room so I can get some uninterrupted sleep. So no, not nursing one day does not make you a bad mom! Just a tired one.

Re: Do you ever just not want to nurse?

Oh gosh, YES! I dont have a baby to nurse anymore, but I think we all have had those nights. Mine came when DS was about 8 weeks old, I had mastitis (sp), and soooo tired of not getting sleep for the past 2 months. Funny thing is, the next night is when he started sleeping 6+ hours without waking up! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!
