Thrifty mama's...I need your help!

I was just informed that I will be having a baby shower. Im pretty surprised as this is my 4th child. Granted, my youngest is a boy and my other 2 are MUUUUSH older, but I sitll didn't expect it.

Anyway, i'd like to get your input on nice, but inexpensive prizes that I can give to my guests when they win a game.

Im gonna be making a gift basket to raffle off as well, and I was thinking of filling it with items I get during my CVS trips hehe.

Anywho, what are some items to put in the gift basket? Keep in mind it's a co-ed shower. Also, what are some pretty neutral prizes my guests could win? I need thrifty mamas to help me come up with low cost ideas.

Thanks ladies!

Hi Heather, I know you love CVS (me too) and the EOB hand soap is buy three get $5 ECB back for the monthly deal. If you go to the clearance section they have the Cherry one on clearance for 2.50. So you can spend 7.50 and get 5 back, and have three nice little prizes, right?

ohh what's EOB stand for?? Im sure I can add more stuff to my purchase so I can use a discount coupon too along with regular coupons.

I was thinking since men will be there too, that I could bake some cookies and put them in a nice tin or something as a gift. Is that TOO cheap?

In my experience, men always enjoy food, especially homemade! I love the Target dollar rack for cute little gifts. They have lots of great seasonal stuff, like barbecue tools, etc. for either $1 or $2.50.

You could try to do theme baskets maybe, like a movie basket (movie rental gift card, microwave popcorn, soda), grilling basket (fill it with some spices and grill utensils), Chocolate lovers basket (candies and homemade goodies), etc.

Good luck and have fun!

Re: Thrifty mama's...I need your help!

I was informed last week I'd be having one this weekend LOL Um...ok but they are taking care of all that stuff....

I've won $5 gc's to star bucks before.

I don't know when your shower is but I saw an ecb deal coming up in the next couple of weeks buy 3 american express gift cards and get I think 5 ecb's back.... LOL I would totally use that to either purchase prizes or juse 5 dollar gcs as prizes LOL. This cvs thing is making me SO cheap.

ahh ok... We dont have a clearance section at my CVS though. I wonder if it would be with the rest of the EOB soaps?

heheh I know... but cheap isn't a bad thing. Why spend a buttload when you can conserve the money and still get nice things?
