my 7month old has teeth coming in directly behind other teeth - any experience?

I'mhoping to get him in to a pediatric dentist next week. They are closed until Monday. Lucas is 7 months and has 8 teeth- the top four front and bottom four front. His 9th and 10th are coming in right now- the incisors or canines, right next to the 2nd top front teeth. I'm guessing its those teeth. They are coming in literally right behind the other teeth- the 2nd top front teeth. I didn't even notice b/c they were behind. One is totally broken through and the other is about to break through. Is that normal??? I was going to make an appiontment for Ethan for his first dental visit and now I may try to bring both of them for the pediatric dentist to look at Lucas as well. Anyone else's baby do this? No WONDER why he wasn't sleeping.. poor thing.

my niece has this but she is 11. not sure what they would do with a baby, in her case they pulled the ones in front that were her "baby teeth" and then put braces on her to pull the permanent ones that were behind up. don't think that helps any!!!

This happened with my 6 year old but it caused the front ones to fall out. Then the new ones just moved forward.

My aunt is a dental hygenist and I'd asked her about it before the front ones fell out. She said if there are two there they take out the front ones if they don't come out on their own. Don't remember the reason why though.

Not sure what they would do with a LO though... and think it would depend on which teeth were coming in.. incisors or adult.

Keep us posted.

Both my husband and I are dental hygienists and neither of us have ever seen that or know of it happening with baby teeth. It is not uncommon for that to happen when the adult teeth are coming in. It is possible that they are extra primary teeth (which is uncommon) or that they are his canines coming in early. Is there any way you could take a pic? I am very interested in what the dentist says! Please let me know!

I asked an online expert and he suggested the following (which included having him looked at which of course I will)
1) his canines coming in that will just migrate into place
2) more of the tooth coming in (but I doubt it-- those incisors are pretty small and thin)
3) an extra tooth on each side.

I hope its just #1. I'll try to get a pic but I might not be able to.
