Hops are actually good for your supply, so go for an IPA!! Besides, a half a drink will do the trick for me right now after such a long hiatus from alcohol. LOL!! Besides, you can't have a happy baby unless mama is relaxed

Totally not a big deal. Have your wine and don't worry about it.

You should totally have a glass of wine.

Re: I need a drink!!!

I will have a glass of wine after my DD goes to bed. I too have been told that as long as you're not feeling tipsy or drunk that you're fine to nurse (I still like to wait until she's asleep though), and that there's no point to the old "pump and dump" routine as the alcohol will metabolize out of the breastmilk, and I'd imagine that if it hasn't metabolized out of the rest of the body yet it could still get back into whatever milk you made after the pump and dump. I've got to say though, a glass of wine doesn't help put me in the "mood".

Re: I need a drink!!!

My MIL had a complete hissy when I bought a bottle of wine during a visit a few months ago. She asked whose wine it was, my DH said it was mine, and she breaks into "Oh, she can't have wine, she's breastfeeding!" in an almost hysterical voice.
