You can also cram more in a padded flat rate envelope than a regular flat rate envelope though that would probably been too small for what you needed. I try to use the regional rate flat rate boxes if the person lives close by. It's a little more of a hassle but you can get a large regional box for about what you would pay for a regular medium frb. You have to order the boxes from USPS and pay for the shipping online under the business section of the USPS website.

Re: shipping fees, ouch!

I never threw down the money to buy a digital scale, even after selling for years. We also went a very long time with no printer either.

Today I just crammed a medium flat rate box full of diaper making fabrics, and figuring pp fees and the flat rate cost, those will eat up almost 1/3 of the total payment to me. I think part of the struggle is getting anyone to buy your items at all. It is so much harder than it was 7 years ago. People want good deals on diapers, and then pp takes their cut, and shipping has definitely risen over the past few years... The cloth diaper market has really changed so much with the availability of coop buys and ubiquitous generic diapers (especially true for pockets).

I usually can find an alternative to sending flat rate, that's cheaper. First class is great if it's light, but also there's Retail Ground (used to be Standard Post) which can be cheaper, but you have to dig for that option in many sites.

Re: shipping fees, ouch!

Can I admit I have a full laundry basket of diapers sitting in my garage that I can't sell because it'll cost me too much and I hate to deal with the post office?

I suck at shipping things. It is always expensive. I WORK at the post office and the rates scare me.

DO you have a local buy, sell, trade page that may have some interest in the diapers? Or a consignment store? Those are my next go to, if I have trouble on the web...

We do, but the crunchy and diaper bst in our area are stagnant unless you give things away. There is an in store restash that happens. had good luck with that once. It's a lot of work tagging things, but I did sell a lot.

I'm kind of the same way. I don't really have light diapering items either. Usually I am selling thicker fitted diapers or a stack of inserts.

Our Buy, Sell, Trade is the same way... With our consignment store, I don't get as much money back either as I can myself. For as much money as I put into CDs, I would like to get as much as I can back, lol. I actually lucked out asking my facebook moms group where I should sell my dipes and ended up selling $150 worth of diapers to a mom on there, lol. Shipping was OK at $14.00 for Priority Shipping and $150 insurance, but still sucks. It comes out though at about $1.40 a diaper, which is about what I guestimated in my PPD price.
