Surrogacy?!

I am a 2x traditional surrogate. It's much cheaper than gestational surrogacy, because the couple didn't have to pay for the IVF and embryo costs, however, the baby was only the DH's biological child. Luckily both of the couples I worked with couldn't use their own eggs anyways, so there were no hard feelings or awkwardness about that.

I really loved it. I never even knew it existed myself into I talked to friends that were considering it. Both of my journeys were absolutely amazing, and life changing. I love seeing pictures and videos of the little girls (they are 1 and 2 now). And I love the friendships I have made with the parents. Awesome experience, so I hope that if you end up doing it, it works great for you! Be selective with your surro, and make sure there is a good friendship connection, it makes things much easier!

That's SO awesome!!!! I don't really care if my baby has my genetics or not lol, I've got a lot of health issues I don't really want to pass on. DH wants the baby to be w my egg but idk...I THINK I'm too old to harvest my eggs...all that would take away from funds we could be giving a surro anyway. I'm praying a lot that God leads us in this. He knows best. He knows the desires of our heart.

My sister has 3 girls born via surrogate. They went the traditional route too as my sister has a genetic issue that prevents her from using her own eggs. A friend offered to be their surrogate for their oldest, but they sought out someone they didn't know for the next 2 (not bc there were problems the first time, but bc that woman wasn't up for having more babies). I can answer questions for you if you PM me. I've discussed a lot of issues surrounding it with my sister recently bc I thought we were going to have to go the donor egg route. BTW, I don't know your story - but donor egg is another option if you can carry a baby but think your eggs are just too old. It eliminates a few of the issues of surrogacy like having to legally adopt the baby.
