Weaning help...

We have gone from 2 short feedings a day (naptime and bedtime) to none and my left breast has some small lumps in it and it is sore. Will these go away on their own, or is there something I can do to relieve them?

Thanks,
Mandi

Re: Weaning help...

DS has yet to wean fully, but, if I remember correctly, I had a few lumps for a few days to a week when weaning DD, and I went ahead and expressed a little in the bath tub (the shower never has worked for me ). I just did enough to get a little relief, and that seemed to do the trick for me. I think I did it like once one day and once the next day or 2 days later and that was all I needed. I just tried to keep it to a minimum to avoid confusing my body into continuing production. Of course, I was pregnant with DS and retching and losing weight daily, so I'm sure that contributed to my drying up, too. Sorry, maybe I'm not that much help. GL
