Moms who have putty trained with cloth

is it difficult to potty train while using cloth diapers? My son is only 9 months old, but being a first time mom I think about future battles a lot pull ups just seem so easy, but I currently use cloth and love them. My son has extremely sensitive skin. Is it too difficult with cloth?

I potty trained only one baby so far, the others are too young yet (13mo). She was 19 months when she was PT during day time and it was done in about two weeks. It didn't seem hard to me, we used cloth trainers. But I can't compare to training with disposable pull-ons, sorry. IMO I don't think it makes a difference, besides the fact that cloth diapered babies would tend to PT sooner as from I heard.
As for the sensitive skin issue, I don't have much advice, maybe try to choose a cloth trainer with the inner fabric that he already tolerates with his diapers.
Good luck with PT when it will be the right time for your LO

I've potty trained three with cloth. We used the cloth trainers I make and side snapping diapers at the beginning. The girls were in undies by fifteen months and FS by two and a half.

Re: Moms who have putty trained with cloth

The first thing I would ask moms to think about is the weather. PTing in summer is way easier on the parent and the kid -than in winter. Mainly because they pee less, they dont have too many layers of clothes on them for you to have to remove (or soil!) -some kids prefer just a pair of undies (or nothing!) when its warm - you dont have to wrangle down a pair of jeans when they are this() close to peeing and cant hold!

Also, if you have carpeted floors, PTing can be problematic without any dipe. However, if you have carpets/rugs in some areas, then maybe you could stow them away until PTing is complete.

I second the weather. It really helps if they can go with less clothes on at first. I really like doing cloth training tho because it seems like pull ups just absorb the pee and they don't feel as much that they are wet KWIM?

We are about to potty learn our 4th child and have never used a pull-up or waterproof trainer. If they are ready they will learn very quickly. A pull-up imo is just a more expensive diaper.

No, not IMO. When I really got into Pl'ing we used nothing at all around the house. (Yes, I have cleaned #1 and #2 off the floor several times!) She was fully PL'd by 21m.
