Alright, been a fairly productive day. Time to start on Friday, though!

Re: Happy Homemakers -- January 2013

I got in 3 boxes full of stuff from FSA from year end, including a new pump and supplies. This morning I took care of 1 of them, I need to go through the other 2 boxes this weekend.

I'm starting to feel like my downstairs at least isn't embarrassing, and if company was coming over, a quick tidy up for 5 minutes would make the place look very decent. A lot of what I DO see scattered down there (aside from ever present toy clutter here and there) is stuff hubby 'set aside' for me - a fabric cut for mama cloth he didn't know where it needed to be, some 24 month onesies I need to chop and serge for Pixie, etc. If I get a naptime to work through today I'll be trying to put away or deal with those little odds and ends.

My top shelf at my desk had been overflowing with clutter yesterday, today about 2/3 of it is gone, and MUCH more organized.

Yesterday in a newly reorganized cupboard I located 2 homemade wool wash bars too, so I'll set those aside for baby E!

Seriously girl, you are inspiring. How the heck do you get so much DONE?! :-)

I never did manage to change the sheets or clean up our bedroom last night. I got sidetracked reorganizing all my papercrafting stuff... which led to reorganizing my sewing stuff... which led to reorganizing all of our living room shelves. So they are nice and clean, DD has more space, my craft/sewing stuff is more accessible (but glue guns and exacto's are up high), and I did it all without buying any more "storage solutions" lol.
DH's fabulous, fabulous commission check was... 1/4 of what was expected :-( so no steam mop for me. Boo.
DH should be changing the sheets this AM. I really, really will clean up our bedroom tonight, and I need to move all my fabric stash to its new home!
Tomorrow starts a "downstairs week" so the kitchen and living room will be getting nice and squeaky-clean!

DH just emailed me complaining about his check with overtime on it too. A lot less than expected thanks to tax changes

I am peeved at my DH though, he forgot a can of pop in the freezer and it exploded, huge mess! I am not cleaning it either.

Re: Happy Homemakers -- January 2013

This morning I need to:

Make 2 drawstrings for Baby E items so I can put them in her dresser. One is a hand me down set of woolies from Pixie that Pi broke the drawstring to, so it's one of the things sitting out for me to fix.

Re-clean kitchen. DH made carrot cake cookies after I did dinner dishes so there's a mess left from that.

Hang the wool I put in to soak last night.

Picked the living room up several times, vacuumed it. Cleaned the kitchen counters and sinks, made the bed and picked up the bedroom. Unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and folded a load of clothes.

Re: Happy Homemakers -- January 2013

I havn't actually introduced myself. I'm so bad at this.
My name's Fiona. I'm a stay at home mom to 4 month old Dylan.
My biggest cleaning 'problem area': Time management! I'm a real perfectionist. I love really getting into all those tiny cracks with a toothbrush. But simply don't have time for it. I can babywear for a lot of chores, but I don't if I'm using bleach or having to bend down.

Week 2: January 7 - 12.
What's your favorite cleaning tool or accessory? Water/vinegar spray bottle and rags.
I'm not posting before/afters of under my kitchen sink because it never really gets that bad. The bottom could maybe use a wipe but... meh. Now, under the bathroom sink is aweful but nobody wants to see that!

Today I need to:
-Totally clean up the bathroom. Dyed my husband's hair last night and it's an unholy mess.
-Do a quick tidy over of the kitchen and living room. Max 1 hour.
-Laundry. Get it all done quickly because then I need to...
-Pack. We're all going on a road trip this weekend to see my family.
-Crochet. I want to make little hats for my niece and nephew. And possibly something for my little brother.
