What should I do?

My son's teacher took away his tree....There was a paper in his bookbag saying there would be a tree sent home and to fill out the paper when the tree was planted for the school to recieve credit. My husband is a chemist and very much into earth and environment and we are both disappointed that we do not get to participate in this. My son said she thought he was playing with the tree and took it away. I wonder what did she do with my son's tree plant it in her yard....What would you do? It seems stupid to be upset about a tree but I would love to do this with my 8 yr old and feel if he was horseplaying (he may have been) I should have been called to pick him and his tree up not that she would take it away. These are dogwood trees and would look lovely in someone's yard.

I would ask her what happened. Also, Who paid for the tree? If she paid for it or if the school paid for it.. It makes sense for them to keep the tree. They probably will plant it at the school or somewhere else. If you really want to do this... You can always go out and buy a tree and plant it in your yard with your child.

hmm... but if everyone else got to keep theirs and plant it at home that is not fair at all. I would call her and hear from her what exactly happend and ask that an alternative solution be reached.

I agree with everyone else. You need to talk to her and find out exactly what happened.
