I already feel huge!

I already feel like I should be in my 7th month. My belly looks big to me. I tend to carry weight there and in my hips. Before mid January very few people could tell that I was pregnant! Then all of a sudden I 'popped'! I worry that I will be ginormous by the end and am concerned about stretch marks since I already have them on my hips and breasts (and I never had a considerable weight gain or loss). I am lathering up with oils and lotions and even bought a Pure Belly wrap to hold them close to my skin all day. It also doesn't help that it's crazy cold here and getting outside to move around seems unbearable. Any other suggestions?

Re: I already feel huge!

is this your first? showing, and showing well, by 7 months is totally normal and beautiful! This is my 3rd and I felt like I was showing before i got a positive test! lol!
anyways, the absolute best thing you can do to *help* prevent stretch marks is drinking plenty of water. lotions are good, but you want to hydrate from the inside!
Best wishes!

There is nothing you can do to prevent stretch marks, so don't beat yourself up. Staying hydrated is good, using lotion on dry/itchy skin is good, but the truth is, stretch marks have to do with the elasticity of your skin, and that's genetic. I had none with my first till the very end of my pregnancy, and then I also got stretch marks on my breasts when my milk came in. My midwife was so "proud" of me for my skin (what the heck was her deal anyway?) and then in the last month or so the skin on my lower belly just reached the breaking point. It was ugly and irritated and trust me, I drank a LOT of water and used a LOT of lotion, to no avail.

Re: I already feel huge!

It's genetic. I had none until 2 days before My boy was born, then I got about 2000 of them. He was worth every stripe and he has asked me about them several times lately and I tell him it's my sweet reminder of when he and then his sister were in my tummy! You will not care once your baby is here and good news! They really do fade! Mine look eons better by the time my babies are 6 months or so. It works wraps helped fade mine too!
