Naps

My ds is almost 4 months. He sleeps thru the night but all day he eats, plays then sleeps for maybe an hour. He take prob 6 naps a day. I can't remember what my other 2 did but is this normal?? How do I get him to take a few longer naps?

Don't know what to tell you , but if you are getting close to 6, 1-hour naps, I think you are doing great! My DD would rarely nap at all at that age, and if I was really lucky and worked hard at it, she "might" get in 2, 45-min naps for the day, sometimes an hour.

It is the total amount of sleep they get in a day that is important and if you are getting more than 45 min incriments (sp?) then, it is probably quality sleep too.

That sounds totally normal for that age! Right on with what my daughter was doing at that time.

I think around 6 months things start changing up on their own. By the time she hit 8 months she was taking just one decent nap around noontime...been that way ever since!

I agree, it's very normal for that age. In fact, I remember posting the exact same thing on DS when she was 4 months, only her naps were 35 minutes long.
They started to get longer around 6 months. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
